Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson are set to make their Liverpool debuts in the Barclays Premier League season opener against Sunderland.
For our new boy Henderson it is a dream opening fixture against his former club.
Kenny Dalglish's side will be hoping to get off to a winning start in 2011-12 after a morale boosting 2-0 win over Valencia at Anfield at the weekend.
However, it promises to be a tough test against Steve Bruce's new-look Sunderland.
The Black Cats have reinforced their squad during the summer on the likes of Connor Wickham, Sebastian Larsson, John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Craig Gardner.
Last season at Anfield the two sides drew 2-2, but Dalglish's Reds were brilliant at the Stadium of Light with Luis Suarez netting a fantastic goal.
Sunderland fought out a goalless draw with Hibs in their last pre-season outing before the big kick-off, so it's all to play for as the 2011-12 season is about to get underway.
